Review: Holika Holika Soda Pore BB Deep Cleansing Foam

Holika Holika is a brand I only recently started looking into and during my search, I saw that this specific cleanser was reviewed as being quite nice. I was in the market for a new cleanser but I wasn’t completely sure on which one or type I should pick up but this particular one caught my eye. It isn’t a product that is very widespread in the beauty blogging community so I wanted to share my experience with it! =)

The cleanser’s active ingredients and their purposes include:

① Soda bead and sparking water – removes BB cream and skin wastes, deeply cleanses pores
② Baking powder – helps remove sebum and black heads
③ Witch hazel and tea tree – tightens pores, removes sebum and skin wastes
④ Harrogate sparkling water – supplies abundant minerals to the skin

The cleanser itself is a very thick and white cream with small blue exfoliating beads distributed throughout. The scent of this cleanser is amazing. It smells just like lemonade! =)

The cleanser comes in standard squeeze tube packaging

The cleanser lathers beautifully on the skin. It requires no effort for the cream to transform into a foam when the skin is slightly damp. As with all cleansers, I use my Clarisonic Mia 2 to deeply work the product into my skin. My skin does not feel dry or stripped of any facial oils afterwards (but keep in mind that my skin is not sensitive)! My skin appears a lot brighter and is not extremely red like it normally is when I use other cleansers.

Although I have been enjoying this cleanser, it hasn’t helped my acne or acne scarring so this means I will not repurchase it immediately and try some other cleansers. However, it does leave my skin feeling very clean and that is what it claims to do so I wouldn’t say I am disappointed. I normally do not just use a cleanser to remove my makeup because I feel that it is inefficient and I take off a majority of it during the shower anyway. If you wear lighter makeup then this cleanser will help remove most of it but I would still recommend either using a makeup remover beforehand or following up with a toner afterwards just to remove any excess!

Also big FYI, it does burn if it gets in your eyes so please be careful! I was tearing up so badly when I was washing too close to my eyes (silly mistake on my part though =P)!

Review: Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Colour Change Tint Bar in #03 CC Pink

This post is dedicated to Sandrewbox, enjoy this post lovely! ♡

While I was browsing around on eBay looking for new products to try, I came across this lip tint bar and it completely caught by eye. The colour adjusts according to the temperature of your lips! Naturally I was interested to see what colour it would change into on my personal skin temperature so I bought it! =) There are only 3 shades available – #01 CC Cherry, #02 CC Orange and the one I picked up, #03 CC Pink. It is described as an innocent pink and that is probably the best way to describe it in the tube!

The lip tint itself contains mint water and marine collagen, which are ingredients that help moisturise and soften the lips all day. It comes in a retractable container and the packaging is quite cute with all the hot pink polka dots but there is only 2.4 grams of product! I really wished there was more inside considering how long the packaging is, it’s really misleading. =( In the picture, I twisted the product up to the maximum and it looks like there is not a lot at all!

The lip tint applies sheer but after building on the layers, it turns into a natural medium pink on me. It feels very moisturising and has a glossy look to it. It also smells really nice, exactly like strawberry candy! I love applying it because it smells so good!

The lasting power is quite good. After eating/drinking, it does leave a lighter pink stain but what happens is that I find that I end up with a lip line, like I’ve applied a darker lip liner around the edges of my lips. The camera doesn’t really pick this up though in the picture unfortunately. =( I don’t find it too hideous looking or anything but for some people, reapplication may be necessary. It also feels a little bit drying by now because all the moisture has been taken away, but this is an expected issue with glossy lip tints.

After eating/drinking! I had a non-greasy baguette and an apple =)

I am quite happy with this tint bar. It’s not a holy grail for me but it does perform quite well and lasts a decently long time. I also love how natural it looks on the lips and it just feels like I’m applying a tinted lip balm. This will be my go-to everyday natural lip for the time being!

♡ FOTD: Natural Feminine Pink Look

Another FOTD post today! It was fun writing up the last one so I wanted to do another one! =) Today’s look is more pink toned and I feel that it is a very feminine and pretty look! I’m also using the Naked 3 Palette for the look, which I think is absolutely perfect for people who enjoy wearing pinky shades on the eyes.

I’ve been testing out the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream for the past few days and so far I am really loving it but I will be posting up a full review in the coming week or two! My first impression is that it suits my skin tone absolutely perfectly after settling in for a few minutes (I was totally scared it wouldn’t considering BB creams tend to lean on the pale side) and it really does have great coverage. (Full review)

The NARS Virtual Domination Palette was another one of my favourite purchases last year. Although it seems expensive at first, once you break down the prices it is absolutely worth it! It’s also the first NARS product I have ever owned. Sex Fantasy (ugh the raunchy names are a tad awkward haha -_-) is a beautiful soft, cool toned pink shade. I thought it would look weird on my warmer skin but it’s actually really beautiful and looks really natural! =) The highlighter on the other hand is literally specks of glitter and I feel that most people will not like it at all.

Eyebrow game so not on point. =( Haha, I’ve been trying to grow them out, especially near the ends because my eyebrows are uneven but they look so bushy hahaha. I really do love the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo though, it makes it really easy and fast for me to just fill in my eyebrows a little bit in the mornings to make them more symmetrical and put together! I use the lighter shade mostly but if I’m in the mood then I will fill in the ends of my brows with the darker shade.

I used the Naked 3 Palette today and I have been really enjoying it so much. Sometimes it gets a little boring to always use neutral browns in my makeup looks and pink is a nice transition to make it a little more interesting, yet it is also very wearable and pretty. For the look I used:

♡ “Limit” all over the lids using the brush in the palette
♡ “Nooner” in the crease using a fluffy crease brush
♡ “Darkside” in the outer corners and lower lash line using a pencil brush
