I wanted to experiment with purples today so I decided to use my Etude House eye palette. I like to use this palette whenever I want to wear purples because it contains very natural looking purple tones that are not too bright and are very comfortable to wear. I used the light purple shade all over my lids then defined my crease a little using the lighter brown. I then used the dark purple under my lower lash line and upper lash line to create a soft wing. Lastly, I used the purple eyeliner from my Physicians Formula eyeliner trio for brown eyes in my waterline to enhance the purple tones in my eye makeup! =)

⟣ L i p s

I will also be doing a full review on the lip gloss as I’ve already promised! My first impression was that it felt really moisturising and had nice colour payoff! It wasn’t uncomfortable to wear in the slightest and it just made my lips look incredibly smooth and juicy. I absolutely love it and I know that I will reach for it very often!

I hope you enjoyed my makeup look today! It’s something I don’t wear often but if I do choose to wear colour, purple is definitely what I gravitate towards just because it isn’t extremely out there! What colours do you guys like to use when you experiment with colour? ♡

♡ FOTD: Dad’s Birthday!

My Dad celebrated his 60th birthday on the 15th of March and we had a family outing that day (you can see the haul I posted up yesterday here)! =) We went shopping then had a really nice Korean BBQ buffet so I wanted to wear some makeup that would be a little extra glam and last me all day!

I’m planning on doing an overview of the NARS Virtual Domination Palette! =) It’s the first and only NARS makeup item I own. I wanted to use a more subtle blush because my eyes were on the heavier side so I applied Sex Fantasy, which is a pale cool-toned pink shade.

E y e s ⟢

FOTD7EyeshadowI did a more warm-toned coppery eye look, which I don’t do often but I think copper is such a beautiful colour on the eyes. I think it especially makes blue eyes pop! I forgot to take a close-up photo of my eye makeup so I took a picture of the palette I used so you can see the colours more clearly!

I used the left copper shade in the crease then applied the top medium brown shade on the outer and inner corners. I also used the same shade along the outer and inner lower lash line. Lastly from this palette, I applied the middle cream-toned shade onto the eyelids to brighten up the eyes and on the middle of my lower lash line as well. I wanted more definition on my lash line so I used the liner shade from the Expert Eyewear Quad in Natural Smokes across the upper lash line. I finished the eye look with my Mega Plush mascara to lengthen my lashes. (Wow, just realised I was using all Maybelline for my whole eye makeup LOL)

⟣ L i p s

I’m wearing my favourite NYX Butter Gloss in “Sugar Cookie” (thus far!). It’s a lovely brighter pink shade with purple undertones. Unfortunately it’s not showing up true to colour in the photo because of the lighting but I love it for when I’m wearing minimal makeup! It adds overall brightness to the face but it also looks great with a more glam eye makeup look too!

I hope you enjoyed my makeup look from my Dad’s birthday! It’s more of a glam look compared to my other FOTDs but I wanted to share it because it’s a nice change from my more natural/neutral looks. Have a lovely day! ♡ =)

♡ FOTD: Minimal Makeup Look

As promised, I stated that I would be posting up more pictures of the NYX lip products I hauled and today I really wanted to test out the creamy round lipstick on my lips to see how well it would last on my lips.

I am going to do a full review on the blush but I have to say that I’ve owned it for about a year now and I never find myself reaching for it. The colour is really unique to my collection, I don’t own many orange-toned blushes and the texture is really interesting but I’m just not overly impressed by it. I will do a review on it soon though so keep your eyes open for it! =)

E y e s ⟢

FOTD6Eyes

I decided to do a subtle spotlight eye makeup look today, which is where the centre of your lids are brighter and lighter than the inner and outer corners of your eyelids. I used the Natural At Night palette, which is one that I do enjoy using! It has a great selection of deeper colours but as you can see, I can also use it during the daytime for subtle looks so it is definitely a very versatile neutral eyeshadow palette.

For the look, I used only two shades for the entire look:

♡ “Nightcap” all over the lids and the crease
♡ “Eclipse” in the outer and inner corners of the eyelids

I missed using eyeliner so I decided to do a very thin line to define my eyes a little more. I’ve also realised that I haven’t actually done a review on the DollyWink liquid eyeliner I used either so I will be putting that onto my to-do list because it’s a liquid eyeliner that I have been using for several years now and it’s my go-to black liquid eyeliner!

⟣ L i p s

Today I used the NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Tea Rose, which as I mentioned in my haul, is an absolutely beautiful natural pinky nude shade. I love the formulation of the lipstick, it seriously is so creamy and it glides onto the lips so easily. It does not take any effort to get fantastic pigmentation. It also lasts decently well on the lips and I do not have to reapply that often. However, I found that it would emphasise any dry skin on the lips so I would recommend applying a little bit of lip balm before applying the lipstick, even though it’s moisturising itself!

Another really natural makeup look today but I hope you enjoyed it! The main purpose was to just show you all how the lipstick looks on my lips! =) Have a lovely day!

I just did my standard face routine today. I haven’t been experimenting much with it! With this kind of look, anything really works! The eye makeup and lip colour are just natural enhancers that it doesn’t matter what cheek colour you choose, it will go perfectly no matter what! =)

E y e s ⟢

FOTD5Eyes

I wanted to do a no liner eye makeup look but still have some definition and smokiness to the eyes today. =) I’ve seem to have forgotten about a lot of my smaller eyeshadow quads because lately if I’ve been using eyeshadow, I’ve been using either single eyeshadows or rotating between the Naked 3 and the Chocolate Bar palettes.

This eye makeup definitely isn’t anything out of the ordinary but it’s great to add quick sultriness. I followed the Maybelline eyeshadow quad in Natural Smokes as it’s designed to be used and applied the “Lid” (a shimmery medium taupe brown) shade all over my eyes then defined the crease with the “Crease” (a shimmery medium warmer brown) shade. Then I decided that I wanted to add a bit of extra definition so I actually used the “Liner” (a matte deep dark brown) shade on my outer corners and blended the leftover eyeshadow across my lower lash line.

⟣ L i p s

I used a NYX Butter Gloss today, I absolutely love the shade Angel Food Cake. It’s a perfect darker mauve nude for everyday and I feel that it just enhances my natural lips. It feels really comfortable and moisturising on the lips. I also just love the finish it gives! It makes my lips look a bit fuller and I love how glossy they look. =)

I hope you enjoyed my makeup look today! I know I tend to always do natural looks but it’s just what I typically wear. I’ll definitely try to post more darker and colourful looks in the nearer future though so it’ll be a nice change for you guys! ♡

♡ FOTD: Inspired by Bree!

Bree is a very beautiful, kind and inspiring woman whose makeup always leaves me so speechless! I love how effortless she makes her makeup look and I was so inspired to do my own twist on one of her looks you can see here. Originally I was planning on using my Naked 3 Palette to duplicate the shades she used but I’ve already been using it so often (and I thought it would be boring to post about the same palette again =P), so I decided to use my Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette and do an inspired look instead! =) The focus of the look is a softer smokey eye with more natural pink lips!

Disclaimer: This is an inspired look. It’s not exactly the same but I made use of what I had in my collection!

Nothing needs to be said about my base, I’ve talked about it way too much already! =P For the blush, I decided to mix the two shades together because Bree had on a beautiful medium pink blush. Deep Throat is more of a medium coral-pink so I mixed a bit of Sex Fantasy, a more light cool-toned pink to lighten the shade as well as bring out its pinker tones.

E y e s ⟢

FOTD4Eyes

For the look I used:

♡ “In The Buff” mixed with “Fuzzy Handcuffs” all over the lids using a large shader brush
♡ “Satin Sheets” over the inner 1/3 of the eyelids using the same shader brush
♡ “Sugar Walls” in the crease using a fluffy crease brush
♡ “Voulez-Vous” mixed with “Garter Belt” in the outer corners and lower lash line using a pencil brush

I did not end up using all matte shades for this look like Bree did but I created a similar soft smokey look with a paler colour all over the lids and a darker shade in the outer corner and under the lashline for more definition. Also, there’s no eyeliner in this look! This is such a big change for me! =O

For my eyebrows, I’ve been using a new eyebrow mascara which I plan to doing a full review on! At the moment, I can say that I quite like it! It’s easy to use and I don’t feel the need to fill in my brows when I use it because it has fibres in its formula that add the perfect amount of fullness to my brows where I need it. I will be reviewing the mascara also so be on the lookout!

⟣ L i p s

I couldn’t find a pink shade similar to Bree’s so I decided to do my own take on a natural pink! Giorgio Armani Rouge Sheer in 502 is a medium cool-toned pink moisturising lipstick that I thought was a tad too dark so I added the CandyDoll lipgloss over the top to lighten it and add some shine! =)

♡ FOTD: Winged Eyeliner & Brighter Lips

Today’s look was focused more on the lips with a bit of a brighter lip! =) I’m a huge eyeliner person, I feel as though my makeup isn’t fully complete without it so I kept the eyes really neutral today with a soft winged eyeliner!

Benefit’s Dandelion is a really pale pink blush and it’s one I turn to when I want something very very natural. It adds the most subtle flush of colour and it’s one of those blushes that is perfect for when the rest of your makeup is a little heavy or bright.

E y e s ⟢

FOTD3Eyes

The eyeshadows I used for today’s look was really basic (and kind of boring =P). I wanted to just throw something on quickly to add really subtle and soft definition.

I used the 3CE eyeshadow (Review) and I grabbed the first palette I saw to add some slight definition into the crease. I ended up picking up the Too Faced Natural At Night and used the shade called “Nightcap” to lightly add some warmth to my crease.

I’m back to using my gel liner! I’ve been alternating between my Clio pen liner and the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner. I actually find it a lot easier and quicker to do gel eyeliner so it’s perfect for days like today where I want to just throw something on quickly!

For my brows, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencil instead of their powder because I wanted a nice change! =) My brows are definitely sparse in some areas (especially my right eyebrow) so I feel that a pencil is perfect for drawing in fine eyebrow hairs to make them look more full and even!

⟣ L i p s

The lip tint I used today was one that I forgot I even had! I remember I used to use it all the time when I first purchased it but then I got too sucked into buying and using other lip products. This lip tint is a bright reddish pink shade that has specks of silver glitters in it. It can have a slight gritty feel but it’s not something I am majorly fussed about. They rub off once you eat something. I think this particular lipstick shade is great for brightening up the entire face and adding a pop of colour! I might end up doing a full review on it but a lot of the writing has come off the packaging from when I used to use it a lot so it’s not going to photograph nicely! =(

♡ FOTD: Natural Feminine Pink Look

Another FOTD post today! It was fun writing up the last one so I wanted to do another one! =) Today’s look is more pink toned and I feel that it is a very feminine and pretty look! I’m also using the Naked 3 Palette for the look, which I think is absolutely perfect for people who enjoy wearing pinky shades on the eyes.

I’ve been testing out the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream for the past few days and so far I am really loving it but I will be posting up a full review in the coming week or two! My first impression is that it suits my skin tone absolutely perfectly after settling in for a few minutes (I was totally scared it wouldn’t considering BB creams tend to lean on the pale side) and it really does have great coverage. (Full review)

The NARS Virtual Domination Palette was another one of my favourite purchases last year. Although it seems expensive at first, once you break down the prices it is absolutely worth it! It’s also the first NARS product I have ever owned. Sex Fantasy (ugh the raunchy names are a tad awkward haha -_-) is a beautiful soft, cool toned pink shade. I thought it would look weird on my warmer skin but it’s actually really beautiful and looks really natural! =) The highlighter on the other hand is literally specks of glitter and I feel that most people will not like it at all.

FOTD2Eyes

Eyebrow game so not on point. =( Haha, I’ve been trying to grow them out, especially near the ends because my eyebrows are uneven but they look so bushy hahaha. I really do love the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo though, it makes it really easy and fast for me to just fill in my eyebrows a little bit in the mornings to make them more symmetrical and put together! I use the lighter shade mostly but if I’m in the mood then I will fill in the ends of my brows with the darker shade.

I used the Naked 3 Palette today and I have been really enjoying it so much. Sometimes it gets a little boring to always use neutral browns in my makeup looks and pink is a nice transition to make it a little more interesting, yet it is also very wearable and pretty. For the look I used:

♡ “Limit” all over the lids using the brush in the palette
♡ “Nooner” in the crease using a fluffy crease brush
♡ “Darkside” in the outer corners and lower lash line using a pencil brush

⟣ F a c e

I have been running low on my Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in 200 Soft Beige so I have been scraping out the remains and mixing it in with my Mizon Snail Repair BB Cream! Surprisingly, I have been really enjoying the combination and with a very light layer, it really helps even out my skin tone! It’s also a better match for my skin because the Rimmel foundation by itself is a tad too dark and can look a little orange when it oxidises throughout the day. I found that by mixing the two, the finish is a lot more natural because it tones down the full coverage matte finish of the Rimmel foundation and makes it look more dewy and fresh.

Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powders are phenomenal. Diffused Light is a pale yellow shade that I use almost everyday on top of my foundation as a setting powder to make my skin look more polished and smooth. I highlight suggest you look into them more and find one that will suit your personal needs if you’re searching for new high-end powders. =)

Too Faced Candlelight Highlighter is amazing for a subtle golden glow. I have converted into a highlighter fanatic because of it! I would suggest it for people who have warm undertones because of its golden tone.

➳ I will do a full review on the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher hopefully sometime next week! =)

The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette was my everyday choice for eyeshadow when I purchased it last year and I’m still really loving it. It is a great neutral and versatile palette that has a wide range of eyeshadows. They are great quality and you can create so many looks with it. For today’s look I applied:

♡ “Salted Caramel” in the crease using a fluffy blending brush
♡ “Amaretto” all over the lids and “Marzipan” on top to add extra shimmer using a standard eye makeup brush
♡ “Semi-sweet” in the outer corners and lower lash line using a pencil brush

The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner is a cult favourite for many people. It lasts all day and is very pigmented. I have had mine for around 3 years (I don’t know if that’s alright or not o_o) and it’s still going strong. It has not dried up in the slightest and still works as great as it did when I first got it! Sepia Ink is a deep brown colour that is a great alternative to black because it is less harsh and a little more natural looking. Highly recommend!

⟣ L i p s

The Tony Moly gloss bars are so cute! The packaging is shaped like a bunny and each one has a different face on it. However, they require frequent reapplication because they wear off quite fast and do not leave a stain at all. They are advertised as being gloss bars though so I honestly did not have high expectations in terms of its lasting power. The shade I used was #5 Juicy Peach, which is a light warm-toned pinky peach shade. I would only recommend this for people who just adore cute makeup and like collecting it, otherwise I would say you can skip out on them!
