Review: Canmake Loose Cheek Blush Powder in #02 Rose Pink

Today I will be reviewing this loose cheek powder blush by Canmake that I wore in my FOTD post two days ago. It’s the only loose blush I own. I don’t own a lot of Japanese cosmetics but I always hear that they are high quality so I’m always curious about them!

The packaging is very adorable but it is also quite bulky so I wouldn’t recommend it for travelling with. It comes with a powder puff that is held by a plastic strap and you need to push down on it to open the product! I think this is a genius idea because it keeps everything held together to avoid any spilling accidents. =)

Rose Pink is a warm-toned medium peachy pink shade that swatches with a lot of fine glitter particles but applies matte on the skin! I’m not sure if it’s the blush brush I use to apply the product that gets rid of the glitter but there are definitely no visible sparkles when I look at my cheeks close-up! =)

The swatch picture above washes out the colour a little bit but I can reassure you that it is very pigmented! Only a little amount is needed to achieve full and even colour on the cheeks. However, the only issue I have is that it can be a bit of a hassle to get product out! I generally like to apply my blush really quickly using a pressed powder. =P

Overall, this blush is nice to own but it’s not a necessity. I don’t reach for it often just because it is a hassle that it is a loose powder but I don’t feel disappointed when I use it. If you were curious to try it out but had other products in mind, it wouldn’t be a big deal if you skipped on on this one!

♡ Great colour payoff

♡ A little goes a long way

♡ Applies evenly

♡ Long lasting

♡ Cute packaging

♡ Great amount of product (will last a long time)

♡ Difficult to get product out

♡ Bulky to travel with

♡ Limited colour range

My Typical Daily Food Plan ♡

Thank you all so much for the amazing support and comments on my previous health and fitness journey post. I was really overwhelmed by how much you all said it was inspiring and motivating, and that was exactly what I was aiming to do! Also, I’d like to thank Talking About Beauty for requesting to see this post! I thought it would be a great idea because it’s the perfect follow-up from my previous post. =) I believe in eating a well balanced and nutritious diet that incorporates all three macronutrients – carbohydrates, proteins and fats as well as . I don’t believe in deprivation of any of those and although eating junk food is definitely 100% fine in moderation, I don’t get cravings to eat them so I only will on special occasions such as birthdays (where there will be cake hehe, and I don’t want to be rude rejecting a slice)!

B r e a k f a s t

My breakfast is the absolute same every single day. To me, oatmeal is like dessert and I actually look forward to waking up just so I can eat it LOL. My oatmeal consists of:

♡ ½ cup of rolled oats
♡ ¾ cup of skim milk
♡ 1 tsp of chia seeds
♡ ½ tbsp of honey
♡ 1 sliced banana

It is really simple and quick to prepare in the mornings. I just add the milk into the oatmeal in a bowl and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes then add the rest of the ingredients. Of course, it can be cooked on a stovetop but I find that it adds time to the whole process and there would be more washing up to do! I really dislike my oatmeal in a porridge texture because I like a bit of crunch so I never buy quick oats or anything like that!

L u n c h

For lunch, I will usually have leftovers from the night before but if I don’t then I will grab something quick on campus or I really enjoy buying SumoSalads if I’m eating locally on-the-go.

♡ Meat and vegetables from dinner the night before
♡ Campus food (typically a sourdough quinoa grain long roll with ham, fennel, sundried tomatoes and some cheese)
♡ SumoSalad (I always get a medium mix of two different salads. My favourite combination is the free range pesto chicken and fresh avocado with the sweet roasted pumpkin and chickpea leafy salads)

S n a c k s

Snacking is where I mostly get my fats in for the day. I’m usually very hungry when I get home from university at around 4:00pm so I always want to eat something. Depending on how much energy I will need in the evening (if I’m running or going to the gym), I will eat more or less but my typical go-to snacks are:

♡ Unsalted peanuts
♡ Unsalted roasted almonds
♡ Pitted dates
♡ Fresh fruit (usually an apple, peach or a plum)
♡ Freshly pressed green juices (once a week my Mum likes to prepare green juices that contain kale, apples, carrots, pears and sometimes grapes for added sweetness)

➳ Tip: If you’re a big snacker like me, a good way to prevent overeating is to not eat straight out of the packet. Take a handful and put it into another bowl or plate and walk away! It means you’ll just be eating only what’s there and won’t be excessively eating.

D i n n e r

In my household, dinner varies every single day but it will typically consist of a main carbohydrate and then a selection of meats and vegetables. Once or twice a week, we go outside traditional Chinese meals and we will have steak with vegetables and pasta. A typical dinner for me consists of:

♡ Brown rice
♡ Meat (either chicken breast or red meats such as beef, lamb or even pork)
♡ Vegetables (varies everyday but my top favourites are spinach, sweet potato and broccoli)
♡ Freshly squeezed orange juice

P o s t – D i n n e r

Depending on how late I eat dinner (I usually eat at 7:00pm), I will have something else to eat at around 9:00pm. I know people say that you shouldn’t eat after a certain time but I haven’t had an issue with this at all and I think as long as you’re not having another whole entire meal then it is perfectly fine!

♡ Low fat vanilla yoghurt with a handful of frozen berries along with fresh strawberries and blueberries (sometimes a bit of mango too)
♡ Freshly brewed green tea (my favourite is organic Japanese matcha green tea powder)

➳ Tip: Greek yoghurt is probably one of the best choices for yoghurt but I don’t enjoy the taste of it so I opt for yoghurts that have the least amount of sugar in my supermarket aisle. Don’t fall into the ‘low fat’ trap – remember to always read the nutrition label to make sure the fat isn’t just completely replaced with sugars!

I hope you all enjoyed reading about what I typically eat everyday. I’m someone who doesn’t mind not having variety. If I like the taste of something, I can eat it all day everyday! =)

E y e s ⟢

I wanted to experiment with purples today so I decided to use my Etude House eye palette. I like to use this palette whenever I want to wear purples because it contains very natural looking purple tones that are not too bright and are very comfortable to wear. I used the light purple shade all over my lids then defined my crease a little using the lighter brown. I then used the dark purple under my lower lash line and upper lash line to create a soft wing. Lastly, I used the purple eyeliner from my Physicians Formula eyeliner trio for brown eyes in my waterline to enhance the purple tones in my eye makeup! =)

I will also be doing a full review on the lip gloss as I’ve already promised! My first impression was that it felt really moisturising and had nice colour payoff! It wasn’t uncomfortable to wear in the slightest and it just made my lips look incredibly smooth and juicy. I absolutely love it and I know that I will reach for it very often!

I hope you enjoyed my makeup look today! It’s something I don’t wear often but if I do choose to wear colour, purple is definitely what I gravitate towards just because it isn’t extremely out there! What colours do you guys like to use when you experiment with colour? ♡

♡ Haul: Priceline 40% Off Sale!

When I saw that Priceline was having a 40% off sale on ALL cosmetics for only two days, I knew I had to go and visit! I didn’t realise until the second day that it was going on and I was worried I wouldn’t have time to go after class but luckily I did in the end hehe. Not surprisingly, I picked up a few things but I seriously think I have a major problem. I picked up all new lip products except for one mascara! x_x I can’t seem to stop buying new lip products but I just really enjoy rotating them around everyday and trying out new products. I walked in there not entirely sure exactly what I wanted but I did note down all of your mascara suggestions from my mascara overview post! =) I need to take better note of all of your suggestions on my posts so I can keep track of them all hehehe. Anyway, here are the goodies I ended up getting!:

L ‘ O r e a l  P a r i s  C o l o u r  R i c h e  E x t r a o r d i n a i r e

This was the first thing I grabbed. I already own one shade from the line but it’s paler than what I usually gravitate towards so I wanted to try another colour that I would use more often! I ended up getting the shade Rose Finale, which is a very natural pink colour. It is so gorgeous! I love how these glosses do not feel sticky at all and also don’t dry out the lips in the slightest.

R i m m e l  A p o c a l i p s

I also own one shade from this line called Stellar, which is a very bright pinkish-red shade but Nova, the more medium pinky shade I picked up was one that I had been meaning to pick up for the longest time! I can already tell that it’s definitely a shade that I will get a lot of use out of. These lipsticks have amazing colour payoff but the scent is really strong! It has the classic lipstick scent that I’m not a fan of at all. =(

I am a huge fan of gloss and balm sticks. I think they are so convenient and easy to put on. I remember seeing this specific one by CoverGirl here and there on YouTube so I thought I would give it a try. I ended up picking up the shade in Watermelon Twist, which I think is a perfect shade for summer and spring. I was so excited to open all my new products up so when I was removing the plastic wrapping, I pulled the lid off too hard that it broke the bullet. =( Does anyone know how I can fix this? Please let me know if you do! I’m having trouble wearing it when it just comes off! =P

I’ve always heard that the Maybelline Color Whispers are comparable to the Revlon Lip Butters so I wanted to pick one up to give it a try. I ended up getting the shade 65 Pink Possibilities. I really wish Priceline carried the entire range but they only have 4 shades here. =( I felt that the other shades would be too light for me so I decided to pick up this one because I would wear it more often. It’s a brighter cool-toned pink and is on the sheerer side (as expected!) but is definitely still very pretty! I don’t normally go for cool-toned shades but this is comfortable to wear because it’s not incredibly bright. =)

M a y b e l l i n e  B a b y  L i p s  E l e c t r o  P o p

These were only a little more than $2 after discount and I’ve enjoyed using them in the past so I wanted to try out a brighter shade and I picked up Pink Shock. It has great pigmentation for being a tinted lip balm but the only thing that bothers me about it is that it doesn’t retract down all the way! I get nervous to close the tube because I’m worried it will nick the product. =O

M a y b e l l i n e  G r e a t  L a s h

Thank you to those of you who recommended this mascara to me, I’m looking forward to trying it out! I had so many other suggestions but I realised that it would be better for me to pick those up when the $10 mascara sale comes up again because it’s a better deal! I decided on this one because it ended up only being around $7 after discount! =) That is a major steal in my opinion! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a mascara that cheap here in Australia before. I’m really excited to try it out!

I hope you enjoyed my haul! I totally just realised that a lot of the lip product colours are really really similar LOL. But it was such a squishy experience when I went to buy these products, everyone was taking full advantage of the great sale that was going on! =P I’m really pleased with my purchases so far though and I can’t wait to continue using everything and test them out more. I will post up reviews once I have my full opinions and thoughts. ♡

Would You Rather? Beauty Edition ♡

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
Nooo, this makes me so sad LOL! =( Hm, I would choose the first option! I have too many palettes and eyeshadows so they’re worth a lot more LOL. I could easily repurchase the first lot and spend less money! If the question meant that I wouldn’t be able to ever repurchase anything then I would pick the second option because I could still do a whole face of makeup with the first! =)

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Never be able to cut it again! My hair is at a point where it’s growing quite slowly and I prefer the look of long hair on me anyway!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
A pink cheek! =) I feel that pink goes with absolutely everything.

4. If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I would choose makeup! =) I could get a lot more makeup than clothes so it’s a better bang for the buck!

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
Eyeliner as lipstick! Hehehe there are pink/orange/red eyeliners right? =P

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Sephora! I like variety in my makeup! I’ve also never tried any MAC products before.

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
Definitely eyeshadow. I like experimenting with different lip colours!

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?
I’d rather be cold than hot so definitely summer clothes in the winter!

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nails! =) I don’t wear dark nails that often even though I love the look of them!

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Probably lip product I think, since I don’t really have one. I have too many favourites so if I got rid of one, I guess I would be happy to just use my other ones?

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Messy bun! I feel like my whole face is too in the open when it’s in a ponytail LOL. I also think messy buns look cuter! =)

12. Would you never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Lipgloss, I don’t use it as often and I’m more of a lipstick/lip tint kind of girl!

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Oh no! =( I would have to go with sharpie! I still often leave the home without my brows done because they’re decently dark and full so I guess I would just really lightly use the sharpie to fill in the sparse areas near the ends of my brows!

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I love nail polish but I love makeup more! =P

I really love doing tags hehe and a lot of you seem to enjoy reading and posting your own answers too! Feel free to do this tag and publish your own post! I would love to read what your beauty preferences are. ♡

My Dream Wedding Day ♡

I was approached by to participate in this challenge and I thought it was a fabulous idea! I’m certain that all young girls have pictured the day that they would get married and I, for one, occasionally do think about what my actual dream wedding day would be like! I know I hear all the time that planning the day is incredibly stressful but everyone says that it’s the most special day of our lives so I say it is most worth it!

A part of the challenge was to pick out which of the following venues your dream wedding would be located: an elegant estate, secret garden or rustic winery! I wanted my wedding to be at a traditional church when I was younger but as I’ve grown up now, I now think that a secret garden would be so romantic and beautiful. There’s just something so ethereal and serene about being surrounded by nature!

Going onto the wedding dress shop on the website is so overwhelming, but I mean that in a good way of course! Wedding dresses in general are just so breathtakingly beautiful and after browsing through the pages and seeing the hundreds of stunning styles, it became increasingly difficult to pinpoint what my perfect wedding dress would be. However, I was immediately drawn to the designs by Maggie Sottero! Her dresses all have a feminine and classic feel to them, very much like my personal style. I have always envisioned my wedding dress to have lace detailing and a long trail. I want to look and feel like a princess on the special day! =) I guess I won’t know what my perfect dress would be until I’m preparing for my actual wedding and I’m going around different stores trying to find the perfect one! But there are definitely two particular styles that catch my eye every time:

♡ Form fitting lace dress with a low back, long trail and a bow at the back
♡ Bigger, princess-like dress with lace detailing

 Lucinda Dress

 Lauralee Dress

I definitely think that for the particular venue, I would want something more softer material wise. I definitely also think that these dresses are more classic rather than trendy because I don’t ever want to look back one day at my wedding photos and regret my choice! =P

I remember being so obsessed with the planning of Chriselle Lim’s wedding and I completely fell in love with the shoes she wore on her special day. I absolutely adore the embellishments on the front T-straps and I feel that they are the most perfect shoes. They would be such a splurge but I know that I would be able to get good use out of them after the wedding too, especially for other more special and glam night occasions. =)

I would choose a veil similar to that shown in my first dress choice. However, if I was wearing the second dress, I would probably opt for something a little more toned down and go for a jewelled head piece such as the one I showed. I think it suits the venue perfectly!

Of course I can’t complete my post without including what sort of makeup and hair I would choose for the special day! For makeup, I would most definitely go for a more natural glam makeup look that is classic. I wouldn’t dare to play around with any trendy looks just because, as I said before, I don’t want to look back and wonder what I was thinking!

I’m not someone who really likes their hair all the way up so I would love to have my hair curled in a half-up half-down sort of style. I really adore softer and natural looking curls so I would want my hair to be curled like the picture above and pinned back (minus the hairpiece).

That completes my dream wedding day! I really enjoyed this challenge, it was so much fun to put together. I can’t wait to look back to this post when I’m actually planning on getting married and see how my tastes will (or won’t) change! If you’re looking for some bridal inspiration, definitely check out!
