Overview: NARS Virtual Domination Palette

NarsVirtualDominationPalette

This was the second beauty product purchase I made in Canada (the first being my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette) and I was really keen on picking it up because I hadn’t tried NARS before so I wanted to pick up something where I would be able to try multiple products at the same time! The palette contains one highlighter, three blushes and one bronzer. This makes it really great for travel because there’s no need to carry extra blushes with you, there is enough variety in the palette by itself. =)

MissLibertyHighlighter

I am a huge fan of highlighters but unfortunately, this one doesn’t completely cut it for me! It is straight up glitter on the skin and although I personally don’t mind glitter, it’s something I do not reach for everyday. I do find use for it in my eye makeup though because it does add beautiful sparkle! However, on the cheeks, I know that this highlighter is one that a lot of people will not like at all.

NarsDeepThroatBlush

This is one of the more popular selling blushes by NARS, alongside Orgasm. It is a beautiful peachy coral shade that has a satin finish to it. I personally think that it is a universally flattering shade that looks stunning on everyone of all skin tones. It has fantastic pigmentation and it just gives a really healthy flush to the face! I love it. =)

NarsSexFantasyBlush

Sex Fantasy is a cool-toned baby pink blush that has some slight lavender hues to it. I normally do not go for cooler toned pinks because I feel that they don’t suit me but I surprisingly really like this blush! It is very easy to wear and it does show up on the skin despite how pale it looks. The swatch looks a bit powdery but on the cheeks, it doesn’t come off like that at all!

NarsFinalCutBlush

Final Cut is another coral shade but it definitely leans more on the orange-coral side in comparison to Deep Throat, which is pinker. It has a matte finish and I think that it is gorgeous for the warmer months. It is also the most pigmented out of all the blushes in this palette so it’s important to be careful when you apply it to make sure you don’t put on too much!

NarsLagunaBronzer

The cult favourite bronzer of many people! Laguna is a medium brown with a beautiful sheen to it. The amazing thing about this palette is that there is a lot more product than there is in a standard bronzer powder so if you purchased the palette in its retail price, you would have definitely gotten your money’s worth! There is 10g of product in comparison to 8g! I find Laguna really easy to work with and it doesn’t look muddy at all on the skin.

Overall, I know that this palette is limited edition so if you were looking into picking it up, purchase it now because I think it is fantastic value considering how many different products you are getting in one palette. I now know why NARS is really popular because the quality of their cheek products are incredible! The only let down is the highlighter but other than that, I am extremely pleased with this palette! It is convenient because it contains a variety of different shades so you can mix and match according to what you are wearing on the rest of your face!

Review: Canmake Loose Cheek Blush Powder in #02 Rose Pink

Today I will be reviewing this loose cheek powder blush by Canmake that I wore in my FOTD post two days ago. It’s the only loose blush I own. I don’t own a lot of Japanese cosmetics but I always hear that they are high quality so I’m always curious about them!

CanmakeLooseCheekPackaging

The packaging is very adorable but it is also quite bulky so I wouldn’t recommend it for travelling with. It comes with a powder puff that is held by a plastic strap and you need to push down on it to open the product! I think this is a genius idea because it keeps everything held together to avoid any spilling accidents. =)

CanmakeLooseCheekHandSwatch

Rose Pink is a warm-toned medium peachy pink shade that swatches with a lot of fine glitter particles but applies matte on the skin! I’m not sure if it’s the blush brush I use to apply the product that gets rid of the glitter but there are definitely no visible sparkles when I look at my cheeks close-up! =)

CanmakeLooseCheekApplication

The swatch picture above washes out the colour a little bit but I can reassure you that it is very pigmented! Only a little amount is needed to achieve full and even colour on the cheeks. However, the only issue I have is that it can be a bit of a hassle to get product out! I generally like to apply my blush really quickly using a pressed powder. =P

Overall, this blush is nice to own but it’s not a necessity. I don’t reach for it often just because it is a hassle that it is a loose powder but I don’t feel disappointed when I use it. If you were curious to try it out but had other products in mind, it wouldn’t be a big deal if you skipped on on this one!

Review: TonyMoly Crystal Jelly Cheek Pot in 01 Angel Peach

YAY! =3 It’s my official two month blogging anniversary today! Thank you all for the amazing support you have given me since I first started up my blog! You guys are the loveliest bunch of people and I will also continue to always support all of you too. ♡

I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done a review. I’m sorry it’s been so long but I still hope you all have been enjoying my other blog posts. Today I’ll be reviewing a blush by TonyMoly. I picked this up from YesStyle at the beginning of last year because it was on clearance and at the time, I didn’t have many blushes in my collection let alone a more peachy-orange toned shade! I was also just very intrigued as to what ‘Crystal Jelly’ meant! =O

TonyMolyCheekPotPackaging

I really love the feeling of this blush. It feels very soft and almost creamy like but it’s definitely a powder. It feels spongy like a cushion, which completely explains why it has ‘jelly’ in the product name. The packaging itself is also lightweight and easy to travel with. It’s just a standard clear and compact case!

TonyMolyCheekPotHandSwatch

The colour looks quite out there in the swatch because it looks like a true pastel peach shade (under natural indoor lighting it definitely comes across as being more orange than in the picture above, which was taken under sunlight) but if you look at the picture of it on my skin right below, you can see that it doesn’t translate that harshly at all because of the pigmentation of the blush.

TonyMolyCheekPotApplication

The blush itself is sheer and requires multiple layers for it to show up on my personal skin tone. It would look beautiful on people with paler skin tones but on me, I really have to build up the blush for it to show up. The end result is very natural and gives a peachy flush on the cheeks.

Overall, I’m not extremely impressed and I wouldn’t say it’s necessary for you to buy this product. It’s definitely just an average blush but the only thing is that it has an interesting texture that is fun to play around with! Even when it comes to my most natural makeup looks, I want a blush that is more pigmented so it can add enough colour on my face. When I have more colour on my cheeks, I don’t feel the need to wear more eye makeup or wear a brighter lip shade!

Review: Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in #11 Peach Choux Wafers

As promised, this is the review on Etude House’s ever so popular Lovely Cookie Blushers! The particular shade I’m reviewing is #11 Peach Choux Wafers, which is undeniably a matte light peachy pink shade! It is one of the newer shades that came out after the original collection was released.

EtudeHouseCookieBlushPackaging

The packaging is one of my favourite things about this blush. It is so cute! The powder puff with the bow is the cutest ever. Even though I like to use my own makeup brushes, I will always keep the puff inside just because it is so adorable. The shade names are also all named after sweets, which is again, super adorable. I’m just in love with the concept of this collection. =)

EtudeHouseBlushHandSwatch

Unfortunately, the pigmentation of this blush is not that great. In the swatches above, I had to dip my finger in the product so many times for it to show up. I have read that the blush shades are hit or miss so I assume that I picked up one of the shades that don’t perform as well. I will still use it for days where I want something very subtle on the cheeks such as on no makeup-makeup days or when the rest of my makeup is a bit on the heavy side. I really have to dip my brush multiple times and apply several layers for it to show up decently on the skin.

EtudeHouseBlushApplication

The blush definitely shows up on the skin better than it swatches but it is still a really sheer blush. It’s a really natural shade that gives a very subtle flush of colour. I’m assuming that since heavy and bright blushes aren’t as popular in Korea, this shade in particular is one that suits the subtle blush trend. As I said, I will still use it but I would not recommend this shade in particular. I would definitely still love to try other shades in the collection because I have high hopes that the entire collection can’t all have the same pigmentation!

Review: 3 Concept Eyes (3CE) Cream Blusher in Baby Peach

I’m back with another review on a 3CE product except this time it’s on the cream blusher in the shade Baby Peach. As with all their other products, they have a wide selection of blushes to choose from. Within the cream blush range, they also have shades Soft Orange, Coral and New Pink but I would have to say that they all appear to be quite bold colours.

The cream blush comes in a soft squeeze tube with a fairly small opening so that you won’t squeeze out too much product because a little goes a long way. I really like this because it means you don’t transfer any bacteria by dipping any brushes into it. You just squeeze out as much as you need and you’re good to go, the rest of the product is untouched! However, a word of warning – after I took this overseas and came back, I think the air pressure affected it so now the product oozes out as soon as I open it and it’s become a bit messy but I really don’t think you will have any issues if it’s just kept in your makeup drawer or wherever you store your makeup!

3CECreamBlushPackaging

It is quite inexpensive at $14USD for the amount of product you get.

3CECreamBlushHandSwatches

The blush is highly pigmented, almost like paint so a little goes a long way. You need the smallest amount for both cheeks. It’s hassle free because you can just use your fingers to apply without the need for a brush. It is a beautiful peach colour but it’s definitely not pastel so I think the name ‘Baby Peach’ is a little deceiving. It’s more of a muted down bright peach. If you have drier skin, you should make sure your skin is decently moisturised because close-up, you can see that it accentuates those areas.

Review: CandyDoll Cheek Color in Strawberry Pink

CandyDoll is a popular Japanese cosmetics brand produced by the famous gyaru model Tsubasa Masuwaka. Today I will be reviewing one of the few makeup products I own by this brand, a vibrant cool-toned pink blusher!

CandyDollBlushPackaging

The blush is in a fairly sturdy plastic case and is very compact. It contains a lot of product and I can tell that it will take me a very long time to even hit pan on this blush.

CandyDollBlushHandSwatch

The blush is highly pigmented so you only need to tap your blush brush a few times to get a lovely flush of colour across your cheeks. Although it looks quite scary in the pan, it actually looks very natural when applied lightly. It’s only if you apply too much that it will look clownish.
