♡ Very Mini Haul: YSL Lipsticks!

YSLLipsticks

When my parents went overseas a few weeks ago, I told them that I wanted some YSL lipsticks because I’ve always been a huge fan of them but considering that they are almost double the price here in Australia, I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity for them to pick some up while they were overseas! Originally they asked if I wanted the YSL Rouge Pur Glossy Lip Stain trio that is sold in Duty Free Airlines exclusively but because you don’t get to pick the colours, they decided to purchase these lipsticks individually! =)

The packaging of the lipsticks themselves is just absolutely gorgeous. It looks luxurious because of the gold casing and I love the detailing in the middle. It has got to be one of my most favourite packagings ever! The shades I got seem the same in the tube but they are very, very different as you can see in the swatches!

The first lipstick is in the ‘shine’ formulation so it is a lot sheerer and has a beautiful glossy finish to it. It feels really moisturising on the lips and the colour looks very natural on me. =) It’s the kind of shade that I would classify as a natural my lips but better. It’s an easy colour to wear for everyday and it pairs well with absolutely any eye makeup. It doesn’t last all day but it is easy to reapply!

The second lipstick has the standard creamy formulation and it has amazing pigmentation. I love using this shade as a stain for everyday wear and only a little bit of product is needed to achieve a soft look. I like to apply it to the centre of my lips then use a lip brush to blend it out. The texture is so buttery and is completely comfortable to wear. The colour is so flattering and I find myself reaching for it a lot when I want a pop of colour on the lips, but it isn’t too out there at the same time!

Overall, I am beyond pleased with these lipsticks and I have been using them so much. In the future, I will do FOTDs so you can see how they look on my lips but the swatches are very true to colour! I would love to know if you have tried YSL lipsticks before and which ones are your favourite! ♡

Yes, they are incredibly expensive but they’re a nice splurge once in a while! I definitely wouldn’t be able to bring myself to purchase them all the time! :O I hope you will pick one up soon so you can try them! ❤

They are both so gorgeous hehe! ❤ I would definitely say they're my top favourite high end lipstick brand that I've tried! Of all time, I wouldn't be able to say because they're really really expensive!

As a guy I obviously haven’t tried them, lol! I must admit however that they both look amazing! The Rouge Volupte Shine blends very well and is quite subtle whereas the Rouge Volupte Silky has that pizazz without being too much or too dark. I see that they are available here in Canada at Sephora for $39. I’ll have to point these out to my lady friends the next time we are out shopping and they forcefully drag me into a cosmetics store! And at the very least, I’ll have a good gift idea if and when the occasion arises…

Wow you know a lot for a guy, I’m very impressed! 😀 Always good to get thoughts from both genders! These would make phenomenal gifts in my opinion! I would be beyond thrilled if someone gifted me a YSL lipstick! 😛 But definitely do tell your lady friends about these!

That’s so nice that your parents were able to get you the lipsticks. I think the packaging is so fancy. Hehe I have one of the orange shades. It has the pigmentation of the second one you showed. It’s such an awesome color and it’s so easy to apply because of how soft it is!

Hehe yes, I’m so grateful they did! 😀 The packaging really is so so fancy and luxurious looking! I’m in love with it! Oh, that sounds so pretty! I don’t own many oranges but the formula of the lipsticks really do make it so easy to apply!

Those lipsticks are true gems and it always feels nice to own something of quality but even more so when the packaging is beautiful. These kinds of lipsticks are meant to be shown off aka totally acceptable to do a touch up while at a resteraunt for example..
Today has been a most wonderful day because I have offered to connect on a one to one basis via email (as I also just did you) with a few bloggers that I really enjoy chatting with and want to get to know better. Making friends doesn’t come easy to me as I am actually quite shy and introverted. The very few bloggers that I mentioned about emailing already feel like friends and good one’s, so it really made my day that I received some email’s already. I feel blessed as in that I just made some fantastic new friends that will be so for life and I cannot wait and feel genuinely excited to get to know a few people better.
So today I feel like I have been handed something very very special and good true friends are hard to find. Honestly I cannot remember the last time that I felt such a deep heartfelt happiness and thankfulness. 🙂 >3 >3 >3

Thank you for liking “Smile” and “Green and Gold.” Maybe it is because I am a graphic designer, but I like the packaging of these lipsticks too! I also enjoy seeing nicely designed perfume bottles. 🙂

One time on eBay I saw people trying to sell their old perfume bottles online. Most of them were not very expensive, but I guess it is possible that some of them could be worth something in the future. 🙂

Oh thank you for letting me know! I didn’t know people did that but that is such a great idea for decorative purposes and then of course you could sell them later like you said! 😀

You are welcome. 🙂 I became curious about the value of old perfume bottles because I found some stored in a box here at home. I was trying to decide whether to keep them or throw them away.

Thanks for liking my “Taking Time Off” post. Even though I do not plan to post new material on my blogs for awhile, I thought I should still respond to comments and likes. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. 🙂

I am sorry that it took me so long to respond to you again. I kept some of the ones that I thought would be valuable, but I threw some of them away.

I can certainly understand not being able to post frequently because of being busy with other things in your life. I am still not ready to return to blogging just yet.

I appreciate your visits to my blog, and thanks for your interest in my posts. I also enjoy our comments too.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. 🙂

You are welcome, and thank you for understanding. 🙂 I just finished responding to someone who wanted to know when I was going to come back to blogging, and I could not give him or her a definite answer because life has interrupted my plans again with some unexpected delays.
