♡ Haul: eBay Korean Makeup!

AprilHaul

I made another eBay purchase for Korean makeup about a month ago because I wanted to get backups of my all time favourite BB cream! Of course I couldn’t just leave it at that so I ended up buying a few other products that I had been meaning to try or just interested me as I was browsing! =) Being the lip product junkie that I am, I picked up several different kinds and I’m really excited to try them out. I also came across two eye products that I’m just as excited to see how they work out on me!

These are the products I ended up picking up:

There really isn’t anything else I can say about this BB cream! It’s become a beauty staple of mine and I have been using it absolutely every single day. I’ve already done a full review of it before, so if you’d like to check it out then click here! =) I decided to purchase it in a pack of two because it was cheaper than buying them singularly!

I’ve always been curious about Benetint’s Lollitint but considering that it’s around $50 here, I definitely couldn’t bring myself to pick it up! Instead, I saw this while I was looking through eBay and I immediately wanted to pick it up because of how comparable it looked and because it was a fraction of the price at $10! From what I can see, the colour does look quite similar so I’m excited to test it out to see how well it stains! The particular shade I picked up is in ‘#04 Lollipop’!

As soon as I saw the promo of these, I knew I just had to give it a try. The number of shades available drew me in but I decided on ‘BE102’ because I don’t own many neutral shades and I wanted to pick up a more nude lipstick (even though after swatching it, I realised it’s still very much a pinky mauve shade =P)! Also, judging by the promo pictures, these lipsticks appear to have incredible pigmentation so I’m curious to see how it wears!

AprilHaul-4

I picked this up in the shade ‘#1 First Kiss’ and I was curious about it because I read some great reviews on it, and also because I wanted to give Tony Moly another chance on their lip products! If you have followed me for awhile, you may remember when I tried out one of their watery lip tints and I had really bad results with it! I’m hoping that this will give me a more positive impression on their lip products. =) The colour itself looks a bit like a coral red, which wasn’t what I was expecting, but I will need to swatch it again to be sure!

AprilHaul-5

Going along with the more purple/lavender lip phase that I’ve been trying to get into, I decided to pick this lip tint up! This is in the shade ‘PP06’. The colour immediately interested me when I came across this lip product because it looked so beautiful in the promo picture! I’m really hoping that it will be long lasting so that I don’t need to reapply throughout the day.

AprilHaul-6

Hehe finally onto the eye products! It’s been awhile since I’ve purchased new eye makeup, I have been buying so many lip products! I really need to go on a makeup no buy because it’s becoming a huge problem. =( Anyway, for everyday, I don’t like to mess around too much with eyeshadow because I want to be able to get ready quickly before going to uni! The only time I really create a more full eye makeup look is during the weekend. I picked this up in the shade ‘#2 Beige & Chocolate’ because I felt as though it had colours that I would wear everyday! Having two colours in the one product will make it really convenient to do my eye makeup in a short amount of time. I’m really hoping it does last all day on me!

AprilHaul-7

I’ve never heard of this brand before but these just looked so pretty when I came across them! There were so many different colours to choose from and it really did take me a long time to decide on one. I ended up picking up the shade called ‘#07 Moonlight’. It is a jewel glitter pigment so it would be absolutely perfect for parties and night outs. I don’t own any larger eye glitters so I’m really keen to try this out!

As always, I will be testing these products out and then doing full reviews on each of them! I hope you will look out for them! If you’ve tried any of these products out before, do let me know how they worked on you! ♡

♡ Very Mini Haul: YSL Lipsticks!

YSLLipsticksHeader

YSLLipsticks

When my parents went overseas a few weeks ago, I told them that I wanted some YSL lipsticks because I’ve always been a huge fan of them but considering that they are almost double the price here in Australia, I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity for them to pick some up while they were overseas! Originally they asked if I wanted the YSL Rouge Pur Glossy Lip Stain trio that is sold in Duty Free Airlines exclusively but because you don’t get to pick the colours, they decided to purchase these lipsticks individually! =)

The packaging of the lipsticks themselves is just absolutely gorgeous. It looks luxurious because of the gold casing and I love the detailing in the middle. It has got to be one of my most favourite packagings ever! The shades I got seem the same in the tube but they are very, very different as you can see in the swatches!

R o u g e  V o l u p t e  S h i n e  ( 8  P i n k  I n  C o n f i d e n c e )

YSLLRougeVolupte1

The first lipstick is in the ‘shine’ formulation so it is a lot sheerer and has a beautiful glossy finish to it. It feels really moisturising on the lips and the colour looks very natural on me. =) It’s the kind of shade that I would classify as a natural my lips but better. It’s an easy colour to wear for everyday and it pairs well with absolutely any eye makeup. It doesn’t last all day but it is easy to reapply!

R o u g e  V o l u p t e  S i l k y – S e n s u a l  R a d i a n t  ( 9  R o s e  C a r e s s e )

YSLLRougeVolupte2

The second lipstick has the standard creamy formulation and it has amazing pigmentation. I love using this shade as a stain for everyday wear and only a little bit of product is needed to achieve a soft look. I like to apply it to the centre of my lips then use a lip brush to blend it out. The texture is so buttery and is completely comfortable to wear. The colour is so flattering and I find myself reaching for it a lot when I want a pop of colour on the lips, but it isn’t too out there at the same time!

Overall, I am beyond pleased with these lipsticks and I have been using them so much. In the future, I will do FOTDs so you can see how they look on my lips but the swatches are very true to colour! I would love to know if you have tried YSL lipsticks before and which ones are your favourite! ♡

Review: Missha Jewel Star Eyes in 05 Pecan Pie & 06 Lovely Chocolate

MisshaJewelStarEyes

I have been absolutely loving cream eyeshadows lately and I thought I would do a review on these ones by Missha! =) The packaging is quite standard. They come in a glass container with a black screw top lip. Each come with 25 grams of product, which is a large amount considering how little is needed to achieve great pigmentation. The texture is quite interesting, they’re quite hard but are soft to the touch at the same time. They do not feel creamy at all though!

MisshaJewelStarEyesHandSwatch

Left: 05 Pecan Pie; Right: 06 Lovely Chocolate

Both of the shades swatch beautifully and are highly pigmented. They also both have a significant amount of glitter in them so if you don’t enjoy glittery eyeshadows then these would not be for you! Pecan Pie is a medium golden brown with gold glitter and Lovely Chocolate is a deep chocolate with silver glitter.

MisshaJewelStarEyesApplication

Applied 06 Lovely Chocolate all over the lids as a simple one eyeshadow look

Lovely Chocolate applies really evenly and easily. I just use my fingers to apply these! The colour is buildable and layers really well. However, I find that Pecan Pie just leaves glitter on the eyelids. It doesn’t appear on your eyes as it does in the hand swatch. It is still pretty (considering I do like glitter) but I know that it is a shade a lot of people would be disappointed with. They also do not last the entire day but this might be because I have oily lids so it’s difficult to come across products that don’t crease on me without a primer!

Overall, these can be a hit or miss in terms of performance. I haven’t tried the other shades but considering that the two I have perform quite differently, I can only assume that the other shades would be inconsistent as well. I will continue to use these as a base because they do work well for that purpose! However, they do not last all day by themselves. If you do have drier eyelids then I do not think you will have an issue with these. =)

♡ Great colour payoff

♡ Large amount of product

♡ Works great as an eyeshadow base

Review: Rimmel Apocalips in Nova

RimmelApocalips-2

Today I will be reviewing Rimmel Apocalips in the shade Nova! According to Rimmel, they are supposed to be “intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine“. I own a more brighter shade from the range but it’s a colour I don’t reach for often because it is a little too intense so I wanted to try out a more wearable shade. I really dislike the scent of this, it has the classic strong lipstick smell to it! It doesn’t linger all day though so I’m able to deal with it. =)

RimmelApocalipsApplication

Left: Bare lips; Right: Regular application

The colour is actually a tad bit brighter than it is coming off across in the photos. I personally find it to be a really wearable medium pink shade! It’s definitely not a ‘natural’ shade like it appears in the picture but it is a great colour to wear for everyday if you enjoy wearing pink on your lips. =) I find that it accentuates any patchiness on the lips so you do have to make sure your lips are smooth and exfoliated before applying it.

RimmelApocalipsTimeTest

The wear time on this is quite good! The glossiness fades and it leaves a nice light stain on the lips. I can only imagine how great the stain will be with the darker shades! However, the issue I have is that because the glossiness wears off, any dry patches get accentuated even more! Because of this, it does feel uncomfortable and drying after a few hours.

Review: CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Watermelon Twist

CoverGirlJumboGlossPackaging

Please excuse the state of my gloss balm. As I stated in my haul, I accidentally opened the lid too roughly and it completely tore it off. =(

CoverGirlGlossBalmApplication

Watermelon twist is a bright pinky red shade that is so perfect for the spring and summer in my opinion. Even though it’s autumn here, I still like to wear my fun pink lip shades! I think it is very easy to pull off and would suit everyone.

CoverGirlJumboGlossTimeTest

The lip colour does last a long time if you don’t eat any oily foods but it’s not a colour you can expect to last the entire day because it’s just a gloss balm. As you can see, it leaves a decent pink stain but it just gets rid of the glossiness and at this point, it does feel a little bit drying!

Overall, I do like this gloss balm if I’m looking for something quick and easy to apply. However, it is not extremely moisturising as I was expecting so it is not a must have in my opinion. However, they have some pretty colours in the range and it is not overly priced so I think it is still a nice lip product to add to your collection! =)

Overview: NARS Virtual Domination Palette

NarsVirtualDominationPalette

This was the second beauty product purchase I made in Canada (the first being my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette) and I was really keen on picking it up because I hadn’t tried NARS before so I wanted to pick up something where I would be able to try multiple products at the same time! The palette contains one highlighter, three blushes and one bronzer. This makes it really great for travel because there’s no need to carry extra blushes with you, there is enough variety in the palette by itself. =)

M i s s  L i b e r t y  H i g h l i g h t e r

MissLibertyHighlighter

I am a huge fan of highlighters but unfortunately, this one doesn’t completely cut it for me! It is straight up glitter on the skin and although I personally don’t mind glitter, it’s something I do not reach for everyday. I do find use for it in my eye makeup though because it does add beautiful sparkle! However, on the cheeks, I know that this highlighter is one that a lot of people will not like at all.

D e e p  T h r o a t  B l u s h

NarsDeepThroatBlush

This is one of the more popular selling blushes by NARS, alongside Orgasm. It is a beautiful peachy coral shade that has a satin finish to it. I personally think that it is a universally flattering shade that looks stunning on everyone of all skin tones. It has fantastic pigmentation and it just gives a really healthy flush to the face! I love it. =)

S e x  F a n t a s y  B l u s h

NarsSexFantasyBlush

Sex Fantasy is a cool-toned baby pink blush that has some slight lavender hues to it. I normally do not go for cooler toned pinks because I feel that they don’t suit me but I surprisingly really like this blush! It is very easy to wear and it does show up on the skin despite how pale it looks. The swatch looks a bit powdery but on the cheeks, it doesn’t come off like that at all!

F i n a l  C u t  B l u s h

NarsFinalCutBlush

Final Cut is another coral shade but it definitely leans more on the orange-coral side in comparison to Deep Throat, which is pinker. It has a matte finish and I think that it is gorgeous for the warmer months. It is also the most pigmented out of all the blushes in this palette so it’s important to be careful when you apply it to make sure you don’t put on too much!

L a g u n a  B r o n z e r

NarsLagunaBronzer

The cult favourite bronzer of many people! Laguna is a medium brown with a beautiful sheen to it. The amazing thing about this palette is that there is a lot more product than there is in a standard bronzer powder so if you purchased the palette in its retail price, you would have definitely gotten your money’s worth! There is 10g of product in comparison to 8g! I find Laguna really easy to work with and it doesn’t look muddy at all on the skin.

Overall, I know that this palette is limited edition so if you were looking into picking it up, purchase it now because I think it is fantastic value considering how many different products you are getting in one palette. I now know why NARS is really popular because the quality of their cheek products are incredible! The only let down is the highlighter but other than that, I am extremely pleased with this palette! It is convenient because it contains a variety of different shades so you can mix and match according to what you are wearing on the rest of your face!

Review: L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Kajal Eyeliner in 501 Oriental Black

Today I will be reviewing this huge eyeliner from L’Oreal! =P This eyeliner was also a part of the same trial team package that came with the L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascaras by Beautyheaven. What really shocked me the most was that the pencil was a lot more larger than a typical pencil eyeliner.

This eyeliner is advertised as being “highly pigmented” and being designed to “create easy smokey eyes“. It has a “unique cone-shaped tip for easy application” and an “ultra-creamy formula for an effortless glide“. The liner is claimed to be “smudge, crease and fade resistant” and contains a “high concentration of ultra-black pigments for a deep shade of black“.

L'OrealEyelinerPackaging

I really enjoy the shape of the pencil. It is very large but tapered to a perfect sized point to precisely line your upper eyelids as well as pack on colour onto the waterline. I like to use the pencil on its side to gradually build up the eyeliner and it provides a lot more precision.

 L'OrealEyelinerHandSwatch

The eyeliner is highly pigmented but because it is very creamy, it tends to smudge. If you have oily lids, be prepared for it to transfer especially if you have hooded eyelids!

L'OrealEyelinerApplication

Applied just as an eyeliner on both the upper lash line and waterline

This eyeliner really is very creamy and easy to apply on the waterline. It literally takes no effort at all for it to deliver as a highly pigmented black liner. I also think that it can be used quite nicely as a base for a smokey eye if blended out with a pencil brush but I think it would look better with some eyeshadows applied on top.

Review: Canmake Loose Cheek Blush Powder in #02 Rose Pink

Today I will be reviewing this loose cheek powder blush by Canmake that I wore in my FOTD post two days ago. It’s the only loose blush I own. I don’t own a lot of Japanese cosmetics but I always hear that they are high quality so I’m always curious about them!

CanmakeLooseCheekPackaging

The packaging is very adorable but it is also quite bulky so I wouldn’t recommend it for travelling with. It comes with a powder puff that is held by a plastic strap and you need to push down on it to open the product! I think this is a genius idea because it keeps everything held together to avoid any spilling accidents. =)

CanmakeLooseCheekHandSwatch

Rose Pink is a warm-toned medium peachy pink shade that swatches with a lot of fine glitter particles but applies matte on the skin! I’m not sure if it’s the blush brush I use to apply the product that gets rid of the glitter but there are definitely no visible sparkles when I look at my cheeks close-up! =)

CanmakeLooseCheekApplication

The swatch picture above washes out the colour a little bit but I can reassure you that it is very pigmented! Only a little amount is needed to achieve full and even colour on the cheeks. However, the only issue I have is that it can be a bit of a hassle to get product out! I generally like to apply my blush really quickly using a pressed powder. =P

Overall, this blush is nice to own but it’s not a necessity. I don’t reach for it often just because it is a hassle that it is a loose powder but I don’t feel disappointed when I use it. If you were curious to try it out but had other products in mind, it wouldn’t be a big deal if you skipped on on this one!

Review: TonyMoly Crystal Jelly Cheek Pot in 01 Angel Peach

YAY! =3 It’s my official two month blogging anniversary today! Thank you all for the amazing support you have given me since I first started up my blog! You guys are the loveliest bunch of people and I will also continue to always support all of you too. ♡

I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done a review. I’m sorry it’s been so long but I still hope you all have been enjoying my other blog posts. Today I’ll be reviewing a blush by TonyMoly. I picked this up from YesStyle at the beginning of last year because it was on clearance and at the time, I didn’t have many blushes in my collection let alone a more peachy-orange toned shade! I was also just very intrigued as to what ‘Crystal Jelly’ meant! =O

TonyMolyCheekPotPackaging

I really love the feeling of this blush. It feels very soft and almost creamy like but it’s definitely a powder. It feels spongy like a cushion, which completely explains why it has ‘jelly’ in the product name. The packaging itself is also lightweight and easy to travel with. It’s just a standard clear and compact case!

TonyMolyCheekPotHandSwatch

The colour looks quite out there in the swatch because it looks like a true pastel peach shade (under natural indoor lighting it definitely comes across as being more orange than in the picture above, which was taken under sunlight) but if you look at the picture of it on my skin right below, you can see that it doesn’t translate that harshly at all because of the pigmentation of the blush.

TonyMolyCheekPotApplication

The blush itself is sheer and requires multiple layers for it to show up on my personal skin tone. It would look beautiful on people with paler skin tones but on me, I really have to build up the blush for it to show up. The end result is very natural and gives a peachy flush on the cheeks.

Overall, I’m not extremely impressed and I wouldn’t say it’s necessary for you to buy this product. It’s definitely just an average blush but the only thing is that it has an interesting texture that is fun to play around with! Even when it comes to my most natural makeup looks, I want a blush that is more pigmented so it can add enough colour on my face. When I have more colour on my cheeks, I don’t feel the need to wear more eye makeup or wear a brighter lip shade!

Review: Etude House Tear Drop Powder in #2 Crystal Gold Tear

This is the seconEtudeHouseTearDropGlitterPackagingd eye glitter that I own and it’s in a lovely pale yellow gold shade. After trying the one from Too Cool For School (Review), I knew that I wanted to try some other shades! Korean eye glitters are more subtle in comparison to ones in the Western market so they can be used for an everyday neutral makeup look but at the same time, they can be buildable and layered for night outs too.

Considering that it is from Etude House, it comes to no surprise that the packaging is so adorable! Like the one from TCFS, it has a small opening for you to take product out and this stops you from making an absolute mess. I find that it is best applied with either a pencil brush for a nicely blended out application or a Q-tip/cotton bud to pack on the glitter. There is no way that a larger brush can fit and using your finger could turn out a mess! =P

EtudeHouseTearDropGlitterHandSwatch

The glitter is very finely milled but the payoff is phenomenal. You really do not need to spend a lot of time layering it on. It makes your eyes sparkle so beautifully in the sunlight!

EtudeHouseTearDropGlitterApplication

I think this glitter, like any other glitter, is great for adding glam to a makeup look. There is nothing to say other than that it is absolutely beautiful and if you have an opportunity to pick this up, definitely go for it! =)
