Review: Tony Moly Delight Tony Tint

After being really disappointed with the Benetint, I was on a hunt for a better performing watery red tint. I came across this Tony Moly tint and decided to pick it up because it was very inexpensive and it claimed to be one of the best sellers! This post is for Anna, who was curious to know my thoughts about this product! ♡

There is quite a lot of lip product inside and considering that you only need to dab a few dots onto your lips, this means that it will last quite a long time! Something that I’m obsessed with is the scent. It smells identical to artificial grape candy and it is so delicious!

Left: bare lips; Middle: one layer; Right: two layers, wut is happening o_o

The sad part is I really did not enjoy this lip tint at all. =( What I found is that it doesn’t apply very evenly, it settles into the centre of the lips and creates a gradient lip look. After applying a few layers, I also noticed that it started to powder and flake up as you can see in the picture. It was really weird, I’ve never had an experience like that before! It was beautifully pigmented in the centre of my lips but everywhere else was just patchy and really unattractive. It was settling into my lip lines and was extremely blotchy. This happened only less than a minute after I applied it!

The only use I have for this lip tint is layering. I will continue to use it just because I don’t want to waste it but I either have to use it as a base or put it over the top of another lip product. By itself, it is just too unflattering. My final thought is I highly do not recommend you pick this lip product up!

This is good to know because I’ve been eyeing it. I almost purchased it at Sephora last weekend.
Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I tagged you in a Starting Over Tag post. :o) I hope you have a great weekend!

Hey, you might want to check out Etude house lip tints? they have various different kinds so you might want to check out their different range. I’ve not personally tried it out but I’ve read quite a few good reviews about their tints =)

Thanks for the suggestion! ❤ Yes, they really do have a huge range of lip tints! I've only tried the Fresh Cherry Tint range through samples but you're so right, they have a lot and many people like them! 😀 I'll look into them more! ^^ ❤ ❤

I have 2 of these in different colours and they were terribly difficult to control when I first tried them. They applied unevenly (like you’ve said) and it was really difficult to blend it out nicely. But once I’ve gotten more practice it’s definitely a lot easier to control the amount that you use and it isn’t as difficult to blend out anymore! I apply a small dot in the middle and then use my fingers to blend it out before smacking my lips together (all done really quickly before it sets). Maybe after more practice with this it’ll get better? 🙂

Oh I see, maybe I should try doing that to see if it works! 🙂 It’s just that it gives me the gradient lip look because the centre is always brighter than the rest of my lips. I wonder why it does that. o_o But I’ll give it another chance! 🙂

Oh I see what you mean now! Because I tend to do gradient lips as my “default”, so I just assumed that everyone does the same, if you get what I mean. It slipped my mind that you might do full lips instead of gradient! So what I’ve written above is for gradient lips. I’m guessing that the reason why this product had so many positive reviews is because most people use lip tints for gradient lips, especially in Korea. So maybe it works better if you’re trying to do gradient lips instead for full lips! 🙂

Ohh! Yeah I do really like that look but I don’t like it on me because I don’t think my face suits small lips hahaha. It’s perfect for that particular look though! 😀 😀 That makes perfect sense, I always see the trend in Korea! 🙂 I guess watery tints like this one are more suitable for it! 🙂 ❤

I was going to review the cherry pink version of this tomorrow! Haha I generally feel the same about it though, I use it very lightly in dabbing motions to just add a very light tint!

Haha yay, can’t wait to read yours! ❤ I know, it was fine after one layer but I felt like it wasn't enough colour for me personally so I added more! 😦 I guess people who like really sheer colour might like it? :O

Yay! It should hopefully be posted tomorrow 🙂 I have about 4 posts arranged! And yeah it CAN look okay with more layers but it is a hit or a miss really 😦 if you are after a very sheer slightly natural tint the one layer does the trick for sure!

Yay! 😀 Haha me too I arrange my posts! 🙂 Yes, someone else was telling me to apply just a little. I think that may have been the problem, I was probably applying too much! 😛 I’ll give it a go tomorrow!

Also if you dont like it as a lip product use it as a cheek tint 🙂 three small vertocal strokes then blend up to your ears before it sets and it works quite well for that!

Oh no, it’s a shame it didn’t work out 😦 Fortunately it doesn’t hurt the pocket as much as Benetint.

I’ve actually had a similar experience with lip tints – they tend to stain the skin in the centre of the lips, but the colour refuses to absorb evenly with the rest of the lip no matter how much I apply there first. Lip tints seem to work well for so many people… Well, you’re not alone in this problem :)! (It’s not a question of exfoliating or not either)

I know! 😦 I totally regret picking up the Benetint. It was so silly of me since it’s $50 here and I didn’t research it enough. 😦 Yes! I think that’s a common problem with the more watery type tints! They don’t stain the lips well. I’ve had better luck with ones that have a more lipstick type formulation or just a creamier consistency! 😀 Hehe I’m glad I’m not alone on this one and I agree because my lips aren’t dry most of the time or anything so exfoliation isn’t the issue! ❤

Omg DDD: I feel for you! It happens, especially when everyone seems to find it so awesome, it clouds our judgement. Yup agree that the creamier ones have less issue. Wonder why so many other folks seem to do well with the watery tints like Benetint though… thought something was wrong with me XD! So glad to have found you~

Yes! I totally thought it was amazing because it’s one of their best selling products but I was so wrong! 😦 Yes, I always seem to buy creamier ones now after I realised that! 😀 So many fewer problems! I know right, I have no idea how it works on other people! Hehe don’t worry there’s nothing wrong with you! 😛 ❤

Haha, would you say it’s kinda… overrated now that you’ve tried it? 😛 I can only imagine it’s an… underlying skin structure thing~ (Something tells me it’s not just us either!)

I think so too! I guess considering tints weren’t that big at the time and Koreans didn’t start making them I think but I 100% prefer Korean lip tints now! Oh yes possibly! That would explain a lot!
